SRX maximum ARP entries

  • Hello,

Does anyone know the maximum numbers of ARP entries on the SRX models?
Searched the datasheets and docus but couldn’t find it…

    thx,
    Alex

  • Yes the value 0 means currently it is unlimited …

There is no particular value endorsed by juniper at this time

You can check the no of arp entries in use  using the below command

    show arp

If you think that the no of arp entries in your table is too high, you can set an aging timer as below:

set system arp aging-timer <value>Hope this might help  :-)</value>

  • the output on a SRX-100 is:

    net.link.ether.inet.arp_cache_size_threshold: 0

does this mean there is no arp limit ?

    thanks

  • run start shell

    % sysctl -a | grep arp_cache

    Output :
    net.link.ether.inet.arp_cache_size: 1
    net.link.ether.inet.arp_cache_perm_size: 0
    net.link.ether.inet.arp_cache_size_threshold: <<================This indicates maximum value
    net.link.ether.inet.arp_cache_timeout_size: 0
    net.link.ether.inet.arp_cache_rearp_size: 1
    net.link.ether.inet.arp_cache_retry_size: 0
