Recover password for Super account in NSM

  • I am running nsm2009.1r1 on a CentOS server and am locked out of the NSM Gui.
Anyone know how to reset the NSM password from the command line?

    Thanks. Jai.

it’s very unlikely that the hash for your userid’s password or super’s password hashes to
    "<userid>/aW9bOYEewkD/6Ri8sHh2mU=" or “super/aW9bOYEewkD/6Ri8sHh2mU=” respectively.
“glee/aW9bOYEewkD/6Ri8sHh2mU=” should reset super’s password to netscreen if applied to the user account password represented by admin 1 0 /__/password.</userid>

  • Thanks, i tried this but i still cannot login.

i also tried replacing the ‘glee’ from the command string with my userid as well as super, but no luck. Thanks anyway for your post.

    Jai.

the following should set it to netscreen:

    /usr/netscreen/GuiSvr/utils/.xdbUpdate.sh /usr/netscreen/GuiSvr/var/xdb admin 1 0 /__/password “glee/aW9bOYEewkD/6Ri8sHh2mU=”
