Redundant interfaces srx-210

  • Hello,

Does anybody know how to setup redundant group on srx-210 in similiar fashion to screenos redundancy group?? I’ve tried making aggregated interface but apparently on srx-210 there is no possibility to assign ip address to it.

  • Hi.

In my opinion You talking about two different things . Aggregate interface are defined by 802.3ad standard (known as LACP), and ScreenOS redundant interfaces aren’t standard (Juniper). You can use configuration wrote below but You must remember that from both sites You should have LACP protocol. Traffic via that interface will be balanced (on redundant interface are only one active).

I tried to find solution to configure ScreenOS redundand interfaces on SRX many times before. In HA deployment You can use (must) reth interfaces but it isn’t strict the same feature.

  • Hi.

If you are using a single SRX210 (not i HA) simply use the “family ether-option” on your interfaces, the same way as you ar using aggregated interfaces on the EX series.

    set chassis aggregated-devices ethernet device-count 8
    set interfaces ge-0/0/1 ether-options 802.3ad ae1
    set interfaces ge-0/0/2 ether-options 802.3ad ae1
    set interfaces ae1 unit 0 family ethernet-switching port-mode trunk (or port-mode access)
set interfaces ae1 unit 0 family ethernet-switching vlan members DMZ

    Best regards
